By saying “ a person” it sounds like you have someone specific in mind, otherwise you would use the word “people”. In either case, please provide more info. What kind of care do you want to provide and for whom would you provide it? Are you talking about in home care or working for a care facility? If it's a specific person, parent, friend, etc., you may not need any certification, it's mostly on the job training. If you want to care for people (the general population), you'll need some training and certification. Tell us more.

You need to provide more info. You want to be an aide? To do that successfully you need to take a Certified Nurses Assistant (CNA) course. They run 8 to 10 weeks. Our local technical school has classes and some Jr Colleges have them. Nursing Homes will train but you usually then work for them. In my State the Nursing Board oversees CNAs and certifies them. Be aware though, the pay is not that good.

In the State of PA, they have a program where an agency will train you and you become their employee. May want to check that out in your state.
