Do you mean a family member gets paid by the state (Medicaid) to be a caregiver?

If your state has a program for family caregivers and your family member is on Medicaid. These kinds of family caregiver programs are through Medicaid and Medicaid gets their money back when the family member dies if they own property like a house.

Other than a Medicaid-sponsored program, I do not know of another way for a family caregiver to get paid. Some states like mine (CT) have grant programs but they pay for agency homecare aides not family caregivers.
