Are there organizations that have donated glasses that could get close to moms prescription?

Lions Clubs still collect glasses and hearing aides. Contact the nearest club or reach out online. There may be a small copay or none depending on income. We are called the Knights of the Blind.

If she is on Medicaid an Optometrist should be associated with the NH who will come in and fit her for a new pair. Thats if your State Medicaid pays for vision. If not on Medicaid maybe the Dr will still come in. You may need to pay out of pocket for a replacement but for someone with Dementia she shouldn't need anything fancy.

The Lions Club is an organization that used to collect glasses.

Can you give us more info?

Your profile says your mom is 87 living in AL and has dementia/ALZ.

What does she need glasses for: reading? Distance? etc.

Is it the frames that are broken? Or is she not seeing well?

Thanks for the extra details.
