There isn't "one best treatment," as every individual will have slightly different needs. However, anti-inflammatory drugs are often given. People are generally told to exercise, keep their weight down and eat a healthy diet. For more information try the the Arthritis Foundation at www.arthritis.org.

Have yo7 seen a doctor? Joint pain can be symptoms of other disorders, so make sure you know you're dealing with osteoarthritis. Anti-inflammatories really help. Aleve is very good. Exercise always sounds like the last thing a person with arthritis would want to do, but it does make you feel so much better. Also, try glucosamine. Over time, it can help build cartlidge. Most any pharmacy carries it.

Rebuilding of the cartilage is highly important. If there is cartilage loss then this would allow the two bones to rub with each other and this will give rise to pain.

Only an orthopedic doctor can suggest you the best regarding the treatment. If you are looking for Orthopedic surgeons/doctors you can visit orthotexas.
All the best.

Pool therapy works very well for people with arthritis, because it does not stress the joints. However, the water must be at least 83 degrees, preferably 85 for therapeutic value.
