I fear something bad might happen. She is living by herself. Her sisters try to help but she tells them to leave in a few days. She has tried several times to reheat food in Tupperware on an electric stove. I'm afraid for her life. Today I went to her home and it was full of smoke and she didn't even know it. I asked her where the smoke came from an she said she don't know what's going on. Please I need some help

Agree totally. It is not so much "mental health" but thinking skills or cognition, btu she is not safe on her own anymore if she did not remember or judge it was important to leave a house with smoke in it.

I agree..disconnect stove. Take off knobs, unplug. In home aide..meals on wheels. Start taking her for tours of assisted living.

She must be kept safe. Perhaps an assisted living home?? There are many options out there. This must be done ASAP-like today.

If there is a delay in getting her moved to a more appropriate and safe setting, hire a sitter or home health care temporarily. Disconnect the stove, if no one can be there with her. Then she can reheat in the microwave.

She cannot stay alone anymore. Call your county social services and they will send a social worker to check on her and they can initiate a Guardianship if that is what she needs.
