Senior Care Services at Emeritus at Renton:
Assisted Living, Independent Living

"We have promised ourselves that we shall always treat our residents as we would our own loved ones. Nothing less than our best will do."
This is a simple promise that the staff at Emeritus at Renton- and throughout Emeritus Senior Living communities- has shared since 1993, when our community first opened its doors. It's a simple promise to be compassionate and kind, understanding and respectful- a promise to become extended family to the seniors entrusted in our care and to our residents who have chosen our retirement community for its active lifestyle.

The Perfect Location
Emeritus at Renton is conveniently located right in downtown Renton, which borders the south end of beautiful Lake Washington. Our assisted living and retirement community offers easy access to Route 167 (Rainier Avenue), I-5 to the west and I-405 to the east. Numerous shopping areas, including the Village Square Shopping Center, Renton Shopping Center and Renton Village Shopping Center, are within a quick drive from our community. Several hospitals are also nearby, including Valley Medical Center, Highline Community Hospital, the VA Hospital, as well as all of the world-class hospitals located throughout Seattle.

With a wide range of residents with different physical abilities, including some who live independently, we work hard to accommodate everyone by offering a variety of different off-site excursions. Shopping trips to Fred Meyer, Dollar Store and our local bakery are always big favorites with residents. We also take occasional trips into Seattle to enjoy such attractions as the Museum of Flight or to the Pike Place Market. When October comes, our residents love to spend the day at the Puyallup Fair, the largest fair held annually in Washington state and which is among the top 10 agricultural fairs in the world. Residents also enjoy trips to Northwest Trek, where they board a tram and tour its 435-acre free-range area, home to all kinds of native animals including moose, big horn sheep, bears and gray wolves. And we often visit Muckleshoot Casino in Auburn, as well as the Bonsai Gardens in nearby Issaquah.

A Wonderful Selection
Our three-story retirement community offers 80 studio and one-bedroom senior apartments. Residents who don’t want to live alone or who wish to save on rent, have the option of sharing a friendship suite. All of our apartments include a small kitchenette with refrigerator and microwave; private wheelchair-accessible bathroom, most with bathtubs and showers; large windows with views of Rainier Valley and downtown Renton; wall-to-wall carpeting; and individually controlled temperature. Small pets are also welcome at Emeritus at Renton!

Our community feels like home, with a TV room equipped with a large flat-screen television and comfy couches, and an activities room, where residents play games, watch television and participate in our daily exercise program. We also offer a resident-run library, where residents share books with one another. And of course, we have a spacious dining room, where residents gather three times a day for relaxation and conversation. A beauty salon/barber shop and laundry facilities are also located on-site.

Strong, Caring Professional Relationships
We work closely with Gentiva Health, one of the country’s leading healthcare companies, to offer our residents the full range of occupational and physical therapy services. Gentiva therapists come on-site, providing services here at our community for the safety and convenience of our residents. We also partner with Novice Mental Health, which provides counseling services to residents as needed. When residents need to see their doctors or other healthcare providers, our wellness coordinator takes care of scheduling all transportation. In addition, should a resident require more extensive rehabilitation or need extra support for any reason, Regency at Renton is literally just behind our community. So residents can receive the skilled nursing care they need right in the comfort of their own back yard. Such close proximity also allows our staff to visit frequently and keep close tabs on the resident’s progress.

Our Staff
We have a wonderful, warm and down-to-earth staff of 40 people, including med techs, a wellness coordinator, a life enrichment director, executive director, community relations director, housekeepers and maintenance staff, and resident assistants, who provide most of the assistance with daily living. In addition, we have a staff of three wellness nurses, all of whom are registered nurses. A staff nurse is on-site from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week. Many of our team members have been here close to 10 years and always go the extra mile to make sure our residents feel like they belong. And all of our staff undergo extensive training, which covers the fundamentals of care, dementia and mental health. Some of our resident assistants are also certified nursing assistants.
