Isthisrealllyreal, I took the turkey out and ate a BLT club, but yeah I should of said something, for others getting the turkey, maybe she got the point with all the turkey on the plate. 😆
Yeah, were actually going to a different dinner, but it was closed.

Golden glad I figured out why she is Sooo different, I thought she was doing some kind of drug and was about to end the friendship.

Daisy - high or low thyroid does affect your emotions. I have been more irritable. A TSH of 20 is really high. It will take a while for her to level off once they get the right dose. Glad she is doing better. I found high was even worse than low. I could hardly recognize myself.

Golden, we actually don't very often, maybe once a month, it's going to be a lot less than that now. Hubbys bored because he is so sore, so keeps waiting to go for lunch.

What's your symptoms when your thyroid is acting up? My friend with the foot operation has been going through this, I no very little about it. Her numbers were up to like 20 and I heard they are supposed to be around 4 , so they gave her meds and are retesting her every six weeks, and raising them if needed. Anyways she is starting to act a lot less bi polar. I didn't realize that could affect you so much mentally. She was laughing uncontrollably almost in a sadistic way, and loud. I thought she had PDA but she is quite a bit better since they raised her again. Interesting anyways, nothing I've ever known much about.

Glad your getting it under control. Always something, and everyones body is different.

Daisy, we go eat lunch quite frequently, working long hours doesn't accommodate homemade breakfast, lunch and dinner.

We have seen the prices skyrocket, quantities diminish and quality tank. I don't mind paying for good food and my motto is, "You don't get to raise prices and serve small, crap portions, not on my dime." Many of our old faves are no more )-:, appears we aren't the only ones voting with our business.

We have seen sooooooo many close and it was well deserved because of the above. However, we have found some amazing restaurants that serve delicious food, good quantities and realistic pricing. For that we are grateful and happy. Still shocking to pay 20 to 30 bucks each for lunch.

I recommend that anyone going out to eat at a place that you don't know the quality; share something. Mostly it is more than ample quantity for 2 adults.

I, also, would have spoken to a manager if I was served slimy meat, that is a clear case of bacteria and rotten meat. If they want top dollar they better be prepared to earn it.

I hope you are okay from eating that slop.

Daisy - We so rarely go out to eat - last time was Christmas and a special buffet which wouldn't be representative of an average meal out, So I haven't noticed but I don't doubt it. :Prices of lots of things have gone up.
Glad you hub is getting treatment. Hope he gets better soon.

This has been on my mind recently and I'll share it in case anyone benefits.

I have had low thyroid symptoms for a few months and finally figured out (I think) that I haven't been careful enough about when I take in any calcium. Since I am in my 80s I have to be more careful about caffeine. I have to wait a full hour after taking my meds before having a coffee (or soda) even though it's decaf as otherwise I get symptoms. This last bout seems to be connected to when I take calcium so I am avoiding things with calcium (Tums, milk etc) in them until 4 hours has passed after taking meds. Seems to be working - the symptoms have gone and I will go get tested in a few weeks.
Just a heads up that as we get older it seems that absorption of meds may not be as good.

Anyone go out for lunch lately, prices are so high, and the worst part is the food is horrendous, at the places we went to.

Turkey club last week was 18 $ and by far the worst turkey I've ever tasted, and was slimy.

Today went for breakfast at a dinner, got a breakfast sandwich, 9 $ the cheapest roll , I ever saw, made the whole sandwich disgusting.

Golden, hubby has a chiro appointment tomorrow morning. So it's a start

I feel better now, that we know how to treat it. Gosh darn it all, they can be stubborn!

cwillie, on the prices thing, yes, surely haven't seen a thing come down in cost and many things going up, but a shock was fast food which we seldom "do". Stepdaughter wanted a meet in private with her Dad so he picked her up and they went to McDonald's so they could sit in car and chat while they had meal deal lunches. As to deal? Not so much. Two fish sandwich lunches--so small fries and soda along with a TEENY fish sandwich was 26.00.
He said there were tons of school kids from a nearby school getting a ton of food. I can't imagine affording such a thing. N. ONLY does the fish sandwiches when he goes to FastFood place, and said he couldn't believe how shrunken in size, along with the cost.
We live a fairly inflation proof life at our age, but when we step into the real world it's a bit of a shock.

Evamar, I am so sorry that this mystery pain keeps on and on for hubby. It is so difficult to believe no one can find a reason. Seems there just MUST be one.

Golden, yes I'm loosing my grip, 😜 what ever that means. Lol

Yesterday morning I told H I really need a, me day, he completely understood, but forgot. 😂 I told him I had Kohl's cash and had to bring moms new shoes back. Before I got outta the house he remembered he had to go to motor vehicles, so I'll drop you off at Kohl's, My brains thinking ok whatever. He drops me off , he goes to motor vehicles, comes right back because lines were to long.

Then after a few other stops, on the way home my friend with the foot operation, texted me very apologetically that her other friend blew her off and she desperately need her meds, from the store. So I went to her place got her card and a list of other things she needed , did all that, and my day just never ended from there.

So anyways my, Me day ended yup 15 minutes in Kohl's. 😂 Just going through a rough time and we both need his legs to get all better.

Daisy - nobody gives you times to yourself - you have to take it or make it. It sounds like you are letting too many worries into your headspace. I know what you mean about night being so peaceful. That's why I take advantage of my insomnia and do the things I want to do when I wake up.

Golden, I know just seems to be going on to long, and I'm starting to worry. Also might be a bit self-care in me, I'm just not getting any time to myself. This is an on and off issue with us. Partly why the insomnia started, it's so nice and quiet during the night, and peaceful. After all winter I was so looking forward to some space, and it's gotten worse not better.

Eva, send I find adding electrolytes makes a big difference in how much I can drink and in it relieving my thirst. I don't use them full strength but dilute them more than given in the directions. by about 4x.

Hope something works, Eva. dehydration can lead to serious problems.

send - no idea what this option that you mention is, but it sounds good as long as everyone stays reasonably healthy, Have a good busy day.

Daisy -so sorry about the insomnia. It's the pits, I know. Would be good for your hub to see a dr but you can't force him. Honestly getting up in the middle of the night for an advil, though a change for him, is probably not that unusual for a person his age. You say he has a cold and has been overdoing it. Re your mom, it doesn't sound like there is anything you can do for her. It's her problem. You don't have to take it on yourself. or put yourself in the path of unpleasantness. Let it go and do something that is relaxing for you. Fussing about her or your hub isn't doing you any good. I know that's easier said than done.

So thankful we are through the winter and looking at some good summer weather coming. It really nice out, especially when it's not too windy.which it can be here. I'm even enjoying the magpies!!! There's an app you can get on your phone to identify bird calls. Thinking of downloading it. We will make a trip to see the pelicans soon.

Hubby got up during the night to get Advil so must be in pain, I don't know what to do, this is just not normal, and he is so stubborn, I can't really honestly answer any questions you all have because I don't get an answer out of him. First he says it's his ankles then he says just his legs hurt all over. He is a stubborn old goat , needs to go to the doctors, but won't so far. He doesn't seem in any other pain any place, but to get up during the night for Advil is very unusual. I'm getting concerned.

Moms just not herself, PAO brother went on a trip , ex didn't go with him this time, but I was hoping brother would be back last night. I don't know when he is, I refuse to ask because I don't want anyone to think I care. I know what mom needs she needs her baby around more. If I go more she just takes it out on me.

I'm getting some really crappy insomnia!

What is the retirement option that people have been talking about?
It sounds like a movie, the grand Marigold Hotel, or something.

Seniors live in a hotel environment and watch out for each other, but it is not an assisted living, not a nursing home, and much less money overall.

The room service option sounds great!

Making some pure fresh lemon ice cubes.

Going to add it to the carbonated lime water, even though I try not to drink carbonated much. It will be a special treat when nothing satisfies my thirst.
The idea just came to me today when I added 2 oz. orange juice to the carbonated lime juice.

Then I see, others are using the electrolyte packets too! Good for you, Golden! We use the brand I.V. Electrolyte packets.
Getting dehydrated is possible with just drinking water. We have been using it for over two years.

Water was getting a bit boring this week. A change was in order.

I cannot find the words to comfort Driving Daisy, Way, and Evamar, but I am thinking of you, trying to keep up, just reading.

Goodnight, tomorrow is a busy day. Even the news said how busy it will be for others, but we do not get to do anything fun. Just very busy!

My husband is not well. He is in such pain on higher and higher doses of morphine which don’t help or for very short time.
He was six times in hospital since late December and getting weaker.
Cannot get him to drink more, he eats less but still OK, drinks maybe 2 glasses of liquids which is not enough. Drinking so little is more dangerous than eating less.

Golden, his colds good, didn't amount to much, his body, got sore again after he did his sons breaks, and other work on her his car, because he didn't give it enough time. 🤷

Moms did too much , cleaning the house for Easter, which didn't need at all. No one cares, and she was snippy because I didn't help much. I was there yesterday, she almost fell backwards, on cement, I grabbed her just in time. Honestly I'm just trying to keep that outta my mind. Nothing I can do no power, if I told my brother, he won't care mom will lie, so no point in me worrying, my pretty little head. 😂

A gf/neighbor has some major foot operation, I've been helping her. It's getting draining, her brother is come Wednesday. So I'm trying to keep my patients, other friends that were going to help, are no where to be seen.

So I've been have a blast. 😂

I stopped in at the grocery store while on my daily walk and yikes! the prices are insane 🤯
I was going to buy some specialty ciabatta rolls from the 50% off bin but when I checked the regular price ($7.50) it was a hard NO, I'll bake some tea biscuits instead. And they've boosted the price of my regular brand of coffee to $21 per can, at those kinds of increased prices it will be worth it to take the trip to cheaper supermarkets for that alone.

So happy today!
What a wonderful day!

Tried really hard to get to a doctor's appointment that I confirmed yesterday.
Arrived on-time.

The appointment is next month.
Once I was out, had a good time doing errands with dH, and got my hair cut impromptu, as a walk-in. Many chores completed.

Resting up now.

Golden,
I looked it up online about my husband, and he is atypical.
But we are making do, because I am not so normal either.
He lent me his arm to step-up or down on the curb, then
I was fine walking.

Thanks Golden, you are very right! Anyways, stepson is just getting over a cold, last night hubby started to come down with one. Honestly I'm not sweating it, because now he has to rest! He is also getting much dental work done in June, I'm thinking that will help him not catch things as easily.

Being a farmer's wife has it's own set of challenges. After I first met R I looked it up on line and he was typical. Sounds like your DH is too. Absolutely R gets me moving more than I would on my own and I have some different and interesting experiences with him. He takes me to see the swans he saw on a pond, or out to the farm to see the animals etc. Not often but often enough. It enriches my life. Ya gotta look at the good stuff. 😊
