You don't say how old your mother is, or what set off the panic attacks.

Has she been assesed by a geriactic practioner as to what skill level is she at and how does your Mom feel about this and why does your sister give as her reasons she can not live alone would AL be good for her or a senior housing complex is she thinking about placement or home care and does she have the facts and cost of each option does you Mom have assests she could spend on her needs and how does her MD feel about this is there real safety issues besides the panic attacks that are being controled there are a lot of things to think about before your Mom's life is changed.

Follow your gut...What ever it tells you to do...Do it. There are also ppl in the hospital that will give you advise...Remember it is just that..Advise. Take it for what it is worth and think it out for yourself and do what is workable for you...Do that always with this? And you can not go wrong...And if you do you can always say....S**t should not have done that....that is how I handle it....Not much help but there is help and a social worker in the hospital you can talk too....GL..HUGS...CC aka sharon

my mother is 83 I wrote about her being in the hospital for panick attack my sister feels she cannot live alone but if the meds work I feel she can my sister is older than I and fells she has the last word on everything.
