Does anyone have experience with Recto-vaginal Fistula(RVF) or poop coming from the female area?

Asked by yellowfeever  |  Sep 30, 2011

my mom has started having looses bm's thru her vagina. I am afraid that she is not able to handle surgery. What can I do to keep her clean inside vagina? She is starting to develop at least one sore I can see inside. I luckily got a Gyno app. first thing Monday morning. I have researched online but I would like to hear from personal experience. What are Moms options? How bad will it get? The odor coming from her is rank, the house main living space smells. I am constantly check her and cleaning as needed. She is running a high fever, constant chills, her blood pressure is now low, heart rate is rapid. She is so uncomfortable. Her privates are blood red and swollen.

How much more can mom endure! Hospice says let it be. But I can't have that!! I am responsible for mom. and I feel I owe her the right to find out exactly whats going on. I wish there was a way to suck the poop out!!!

any suggestions or comments is appreciated! thanks

This situation sounds serious to me. If it were up to me I would get her to a hospital ER

Get in touch with your PCT continence advisor about best pads creams and general hygene issues as well as looking for professional soluctions eg colostomy if appropriate, her fever may be due to a urine infection ask GP for blood test and urine sample even though it is likely to be contaminated due to the problem may need antibiotics

Certainly not a cure -- but will work: insert a tampon into the vagina. It will blockade the flow of stool material into the vagina as well as absorb any secretions secondary to a vaginal infections. Like I said, not a cure -- but just a way to manage in a tought situation.
