A visit to a neurologist who knows about Progressive Supranuclear Palsy - a cousin to Parkinson's disease - might help, just to be sure it's only Parkinson's. Because he had a stroke, it might just be arterial-related from plaque build-up. There are drugs and natural herbs like garlic to help his arteries and good blood flow might help the imbalance unless it is due to muscle weakness from something neurological. If he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's also, (which was my husband's first diagnosis) then it is most likely that his imbalance is neurological. My husband can't walk nor stand alone and I use a walker and wheelchair as needed. Stress often accelerates the progression so I try to keep him comfortable. He enjoys audio books - calms him. I offer many hugs and prayers. Be sure to lift carefully so you don't strain yourself! RSuzyJ
