...Read MoreThank you for your comments, Jaye, about getting away from the caregiver job ever so often. I don't understand about siblings that don't jump in to help. I have one brother here in town and he will come IF I ask him. But, I don't ask him often because he works 7 days a week and until dark or longer. But, he does take off work to do things and go places and never gives it a thought to call me to see if my husband and I would like a break. He has NEVER called to ask if he could come over and stay with mother so we could go out to eat, etc. But, anytime I've asked him to stay with mother, he has. He was glad when I told him I have a sitter now for mother. But, of course, has never offered to help pay. Anyway, I guess that is the way it is and we'll keep working around it. We do have an Area on Aging, so I'll call about respite care. I'm facing a hysterectomy soon...going to my doctor next week to talk about what we'll do. And, I will need help with mother for a couple of weeks, I'm told. Thanks again for your comments. This website has been a blessing finding caregivers that can help us get through it. Thanks again.
