My father died about 2 years ago. My mom is very "sad" as opposed to depressed. She just sits in her chair and naps for most of the day. She does not watch tv and has almost quit reading anything. She is very negative and constantly worries about money among other things. She is fine money wise and we fill in the gaps. I try not to bow to her every whim but she is my mom and I feel guilty and sad about her.
I am caring for my mother, who is 89 years old, living at home and the primary ailment is general age-related decline.
