Give a Hug
Aug 26, 2009
My dad has Parkinsons, and they are building a home in my city. Where can I find simple disability construction specs in case he is in a wheel chair later?

The Americans with Disabilities act spawned lots of publications. Here is their website: http://www.ada.gov/publicat.htmIf you scroll down far enough, you will find a publication about making lodging ADA compliant. This should tell you more than you want to know about wheelchair access, shower and bathroom facilities, grab bars, etc. Good luck! We built mom's apt in our house with handicapped access in mind, and it has made life so much easier for her.
