Give a Hug
After the surviving spouse has passed, is it possible to have their estate reimbursed for out of pocket expenses that would have been covered if we had known about these programs? My Sister-in-law had to sell off the house and everything else that her Mother had to work so hard for. Even then it wasn't enough and when the money ran out the nursing home moved her from the "Paid" area to the "Medicare" area. My Sister-in-law had to use a lot of her own money to keep her Mother cared for, and she has 4 kids of her own to care for.

I would be very much surprised. Even with documentation? Good Luck there...
