We have LTC coverage, but it doesn't last forever. How does the remaining spouse protect any assets once LTC runs out?

I take care of my mom in her home. She has Alzheimer's and can't be alone. I pay over $550.00 for health insurance for myself.

My Mom just passed away and my sister was named Trustee. 1/3 of the assets were left to me. However, I never received a copy of the Trust.
