I tried to get conservership of my mom after I found her in a Medicaid nursing home. My brother and wife kept her away from all family and friends.

Dad has Alzheimer's and I have been his caregiver and POA. Ex sister-in-law and brother-in-law have filed to be his guardian.

My father was recently put in a care home by without the families consent. His conservator got Medical Power of Attorney to keep him there.

I am POA of my 84 year old Dad who is a WWIIvet. He lived on his own and was very independent. He fell. We are in Maryland.

My mother did not designate a backup Durable or Medical Power Of Attorney. My wife is concerned about my mother’s care if an unfortunate event took place in my life.
