Will my brother still have alternate POA rights from prison?

I have POA for my Mom and my brother has backup POA rights. Should anything happen to me, my brother can take up POA duties. However, circumstances have changed and my brother will be facing prison time. Does he still have alternate POA rights from Prison? Or does the POA need to be redone?
