Find Care & Housing
You can try. You will need her fathers discharge papers.
I would make an appt with your County VA rep. I like face to face. Reading this stuff can be confusing.

I put in search...Can my adult child get VA benefits and this came up...

"Yes, adult children of veterans can be eligible for certain VA benefits, including education benefits and, in some cases, health care. However, eligibility depends on specific circumstances, including the veteran's status (active duty, service-connected disability, death) and the child's age, disability status, and enrollment in school."

Looks like the child may have to be disabled. Old age and what goes along with it is not considered a disability. There is not harm in trying though.

According to the internet there ARE programs in which the grown child of a vet can qualify for benefits, and especially if they are in some way disabled. It's a big subject!

We get a huge number of questions about VA benefits.
That isn't a problem, but for the most part we are the last ones to know what benefits you or a family member is entitled to. I always worry you will be discouraged from seeking benefits that are a right.

I would begin doing your own research. Start with the very good VA site and work though your questions one at a time. There will be a way to contact the VA and ask for help, but be certain you have all of the vet's information when you do so. Request a VA counselor to help you work through things.

I wish you good luck, for certain, but researching things like VA benefits, and programs that pay families to do caregiving in the home are unique to the qualifying individuals and really require a lot of family research for the right answers. Wouldn't want you to miss out of things your vet is entitled to.
