When you go to her care plan meetings, how do they respond to your questions about this?

I would think at least once a week showers are a minimum for adequate care, with daily wash ups each day.

Is your wife saying no to showers?

Is there a staffing shortage? If so, and if after discussing it with admins no change can be made, ask if they'll use no rinse products inbetween if she can't get assistance for wash ups.

With showers that infrequently, there might be a mobility or confusion issue as well.

However, if she's not getting clean in between, and if she's sitting a lot, there could be pressure ulcer issues as a secondary issue. Does she sit a lot? If so, ask about that - with infrequent bathing, is there someone checking her skin integrity?

hburns40, who is telling you that your wife is only getting showers once very 10-12 days? I was wondering if it was your wife telling you that? If she has any type of memory issue she may not remember having showers more frequently. Just a thought.
