Why won't my father wear his hearing aids?

My mother continually calls for help. I can hear her from 100 feet away but he can't hear her from 25 feet away. I made it clear to him that the next time she falls and ends up in the hospital, it will be his fault. Is he some kind of an idiot or something?

Does your dad have dementia? Maybe he forgets to put his hearing aids in. Do you live with him? You may have to put them in for him every morning.
