The Caregiver always gets the brunt of everything. Not easy, but you have to keep telling yourself its the desease. Did ur husband show signs of Dementia before the stroke or ids it stroke related. You may want to talk to his neurologist about the mental change. Maybe he can prescribe something to help with the anxiety.

You may want to protect your half of the assets in case Medicaid is ever needed. If he eventually needs care longterm, you become the Community Spouse. His portion being spent down for his care and then applying for Medicaid. You will be given enough to live on.
