It seems unfair that families burdened the costs of care for people with slowly-developing diseases like Alzheimer's and dementia do not receive the same medical cost benefits as those who suffer from other "physical" ailments. Does anybody have a logical explanation? My family assets are being decimated by the demands of full-time care for my mother, who is in her third year of dementia that requires full-time care.

Find Care & Housing
I agree with you, something needs to be done to help ALL seniors with either some type of payment for in-home caregiving or for living in a senior housing. I would gladly pay more taxes if someone would come up with an agreement solution for this. Correct me if I am wrong, but it seems that U.S. Medicare will cover only 100 days....100 days?... and that long-term care is not covered.

Here in the States we spend billions and billions on military going to war.... we need an army of caregivers to send out to help the seniors.
