My husband has Lewy Body Dementia and after I have visited him, and am going to leave, he gets quite angry with me most times. How can I keep him from getting angry with me?
That’s simple !!! He doesn’t want see you go and leave him at the home. Maybe you can tell him you’ll FaceTime/call him later …. And do !! try visit / call more often Bring snacks and assure him you love him and will call later and visit next day or let him know when ! hope that works !!
Lewy Body, He probably gets angry because you are his constant. His familiar. He can't control how he reacts to your leaving. They also get agressive.
I used to go to Moms NH just before dinner. One reason is because they served salad first and Mom was never big on salad. If she didn't have food in front of her, she would get up and walk around. So, I sat in the common area with her and when the main meal was served, I sat her down and and told her I'd see her later. Her attention went to her meal.
