debstl: I am now on the other side, but I was scared! Scared of the middle of the night call! However, call it God's perfect timing...since neither my brother or myself (and yes, we're both married with families) lived with our late mother, HE took care of...we were both with my mother when she suffered an ischemic stroke, which was her COD.
Dear Deb, I'm so sorry, I know this is a very difficult time. I don't think any of us are ready for the day when we lose our father or mother. It was my worst fear and it happened to me this year. I have wondered as you do, what is to become of me. But I take comfort in the words of the other posters. I have tried to carry on as my father would have wanted. This is my first Christmas without him. It will be hard. But hopefully with the support of your family and friends and with time, we will be able to carry on. Please take care of yourself. Thinking of you.
