I really only need them to cook.  Is it possible to have them just for that then leave?

Can you still work an oven and a microwave? Or is it that you have physical limitations (like arthritis, mobility) and can't do the shopping and prep?

You can ask for help on Nextdoor.com, which is an intranet of your actual neighbors. If all you need is the actual meal, then someone can cook meals for you at their convenience in their own home and drop it off and then all you do is warm them up. Why do they need to cook it at your home?

When I make meals for people who are sick or in need, I usually just double what I'm making for my own family. It's easier and more cost-effective that way. You can give them a weekly or monthly budget, with your preferences, dietary requirements and allergies. But they also need to be paid for their time.
