Most caregivers are not paid unless they are paid by the person they are caring for. There might be a tiny amount of money through your state's medicare or medicaid, but it is not a living wage. I would love to know who keeps telling people that they can be paid for caregiving because this question is asked so often?

I you are thinking about quitting your job, I would first look into other options for your mother's care by contacting the department of aging or looking into her being qualified for medicaid.
