My mom came home on hospice care last month and I ordered a Purewick System and all the supplies that go with it. Sadly she passed away before it was delivered. Purewick’s are incredibly expensive. I paid $400 for the system and another $400 for the 60 latex catheters. I tried listing it on EBay because it’s still sealed and the box was never opened but just received a message from EBay that it violated their TOS. So I’m at a loss. The system is brand new! Does anybody have a clue where I could list this?

1. Donate to a medical equipment reuse nonprofit and get a receipt for its full value to use when you do your taxes

2. Contact a DME (Durable Medical Equipment) supplier. Some will:

- Buy back unused systems
- Accept them for donation
- Dispose of them properly if needed

3. Donate directly to a clinic or home health agency. Some agencies accept sealed, unused disposable components.

4. Ask the manufacturer who may provide guidance on:

- Proper disposal
- Donation channels
- Whether transfer is permitted
