Try Senior Centers, your local County's senior department, or the VA if your loved one is getting veterans' assistance.

There are some private duty companies that provide companion services; I encountered them when I was looking for private duty with some level of skilled care. I wasn't particularly impressed. The one touted and recommended by others had a "business manager" who could only repeat over and over what they did. She was unable to even answer questions about the care they provided.

I found one ,and use them occasionally, for DW. The clinic that is monitoring her has a social worker that provided the information. This company will provide a lot of services.
The cost is reasonable, $18.00/hr.
