I take care of my 91 year old bedridden mother.

Find Care & Housing
I Took a course The Savvy Caregiver - 6 week course and then we had a support group that met Once a week . I Know The Alzheimers association in Brewster, MA. Offers the course to any One for free . They are very nice there and have Teepa Snow Live courses over Zoom I have taken a couple times . I have taken many Courses with Joan Halifax at Upaya Zen center - You Can Join for free and Classes are by Donation , free, scholarships are available . You dont Have to be Buddhist - it is a great resource . Joan has done a Lot with Death and Dying and worked with a Lot of caregivers . She is a Chaplain also . Frank Ostaseski who I Love also has courses with Upaya and had his own support groups - he has also down a Lot with death and dying and Hospice work . At Least you feel connected to other caregivers and get suppose over Zoom . They have meditations too In the Morning over Youtube .

Caregiving is an isolating experience . If you call a Alzheimers association there is usually someone to talk on the phone or they have someone get back to you so you dont feel overwhelmed and alone .

Insight Memory Care Center

https://www.insightmcc.org/about-insight-memory-care-center/contact-insight-memory-care-center/contact.html

You don't have to be in Virginia to join the Zoomed support meetings.

It's one of the best things I did on my caregiving journey. Several of us are no longer caregivers and some of those continue to keep in touch outside of InsightMCC . A few former caregivers are now volunteers at in-person meetings. Some drop-in from time to time at online zoom meetings just to standby to answer personal experience questions. And no matter what there are always exceptional and authentically caring professional staff leading the meetings. You are never without a contact.
It is a great forum to listen or to vent in person.

There is a group called Purple Sherpa, a group for dementia caregivers. I think you have to apply as it is a very personal way of sharing your feelings, asking others for advice.

Find your state alz.org on the web. These sites keep lists of live groups in your area and also provide totally online support groups. They also have a 24/7 800 number for other inquiries.
I am a facilitator in SC near a large city. We have about 5 in our town including ones found in nursing homes and adult daycares

Perhaps A Place for Mom on the AgingCare website may have information.

You are doing so much for the love of your mom and may require a respite. Sure would be very nice to be a daughter instead of a busy caregiver! Most caregivers did not sign up for these jobs and are often unpaid, unappreciated work, and most are required to work to pay for their Own Care someday.

If you work, your mother should be in assisted living now or have some paid home help come in to relieve your position, so you get a break to rest, eat and do some leisure activities for yourself; perhaps educate yourself.

Do you miss or skip your own health appts or put off or never see your relatives and friends, let alone find Zoom or other online support due to lack of your time because of your caregiving duties? Because that situation could get dangerous for yourself. Please do not get trapped into guilt. If you do get stuck into a crisis and require immediate counseling, call the 988 Hotline telephone number.

My local library would host an hour each week for a dementia support group.
