Without my hearing aides I am basically deaf.

Most Medicare& Medicaid insurances, have a fall risk questionnaire, Many will pay for alert system. My Humana plan just sent me a questionare in Florida.

Check out Geaton777's suggestions and review those companies.    You might also check with local security system companies.    After contacting life alert specific companies, asking them each the same questions, I went with a company that's provided whole house security (and also has the medical monitoring division). 

It was the only company that responded to the specific questions I asked.  The big names that often sponsor ads in senior publications wanted to send brochures.   Another company took a few days to respond.   The security company outshone them all, responding to my questions, and later in performance after I hired them.

my husbands insurance covered his and suggested it.
