It depends on the health of the driver. Can he/she still see to drive? What about reflexes if one had to brake quickly? Are they hitting the curb while driving? How about getting lost, I mean they forget where they are going? Do you see scratches and dents on the car, meaning they no longer can judge how to park? Are they getting too many traffic tickets and/or parking tickets?

Some people should have their license pulled at 21 years old, others can safely drive into their 90's. Also, it depends on where one lives. Getting around Mayberry would be easier for an elder then being on the highways in Los Angles.

Sounds like there might be a situation in your family.
