It's been like she just is so angry all the time. I'm not a dr. but it's like she was disassociating and then was in deep depression when my sister quit talking to her. But it was a bad situation with them ....I just have been the one who tried to be there cus I thought it was the right thing to do and I hate feeling like I do but I am just emotionally exhausted and so broken hearted but I didn't want to think a sweet mom would suddenly just tell her daughter to die. Thank you for the previous answers and your kindness

My mother in law has dementia and her memory of us is solid, all the past is solid, and she definitely knows what pills she does and doesn't take. But she often doesn't know what time or day it is, and doesn't remember things that happened yesterday or gets confused with recent events. if her brothers came to visit two days ago she'll say she hasn't seen them in months. Dementia is a general umbrella term and a real crapshoot on how it presents itself and it varies from person to person. Try to get her evaluated if you can. Good luck :)

It sounds like she would benefit greatly from a thorough physical.

Lots of things can be going on and a doctor is the best route to determine what is going on with your mom.

Yes, memory can still be pretty good or appear so. My dad's doctor told me that really smart people are really good at covering up mental decline.
