I got a phone call today from the nurse at my Aunts ALF.
The isolation of this quarantine has caused her to decline significantly.
She has become too much for assisted living.
She refuses to stay in her room. She is constantly walking out the front door. Being combative. And has started wetting her bed every night. She has never had incontinence issues before.
I'm worried that memory care is going to cause even faster decline.
What can I anticipate?

She needs immediately to be tested for a UTI to see if that what has caused a change in mental status.

Is there a geripsych who calls in at the facility if the UTI test comes up negative?

Barb,
I had her checked for UTI last week because of her mental decline. It was negative.
I hadn't thought about the geripshyc. I'll definitely look into it.
Thanks!
