I am looking for limited help for my 80 year-old husband who just had spinal fusion surgery. I will need help about 3-days, 2-hrs each.

Brendall,
Others commenting here are correct, that if going through an agency you will need to know they usually operate with minimums such as three hours a day three days a week. Also, those folks mostly are there for unskilled help.

Can you tell us a bit more about what you need help WITH?
Is there any option here for a bit of time in skilled nursing or in rehab? Because this sounds like it will be more skilled care needed than you can hire in.

Do consider also care.com.
Hope you will update us what you find, where you find it, and how it's going for you. Want to wish you the best.

I had agencies that required either a 3 or 4 hour minimum with a regular schedule.

You Likely will be happier and you’ll definitely have more options by going for four hours a shift rather than two. Preparing to work and commuting to work combined can often be an hour in itself and few people want to do that for fast food-type wages.

Unless you can hire an independent CNA that works for themselves the chances of you finding an agency that allows just 2 hour shifts is pretty much non existent. Most if not all agencies require at least 4 hour shifts per day.
I wish you well in finding the help that you need for your husband.

Sorry, we are not an employment agency. You need to ask your Doctor to order "in home" services and see if they can help this way. If not, there should be agencies near you that do this type of thing.

We are an international forum of caregivers sharing our experiences. Unless we have a member from your State, we have no idea what is offered there.
