The sitter type aid we hired for Mom (upstateNY) was about 22 an hour. 4 hour minimum thru an agency. More skills and the price went up a few dollars an hour. These aids could not dispense meds. You really need to call your local agencies for an assessment. You probably will find that they don’t do “live-in”, what they may provide is three 8 hour shifts. But you may not really need that coverage depending on your Moms needs.
You can do a couple of searches on Google. “CNA pay Long Beach, CA,” for example. There are even sites like PayScale that will give you a pay range specific to your area. Hope it works out for you.
It depends on what their credentials are and what tasks are required for the care. Does your LO require medical help, like with an IV or meds distribution, wound care, etc? That'd be at the top of the pay scale, but it depends what state and area (urban v rural) you live in, and availability of help.
Also, are you looking to do this as private pay care and not through an agency? Is private pay less expensive? To a point and then it exceeds facility care.
