During the day her Depends stays dry because she is toileted frequently. Nighttime is another story. Her nightgown is soaked every morning, we have to wash nightgowns frequently. The sheets are protected by a pad under her at night.

AbriForm diapers are pretty good in holding in liquids etc.

The downside is, They hold liquids in etc. They are very good in keeping the bed dry. So, please do not neglect your LO. Get you LO's up and changed to a clean diaper that is meant for day time. You are correct, they don't hold as much liquid, which means you may have to convince them to get to the bathroom sooner than later.
The main trick is to keep bedsores away from you LO. Do this by getting them to the restroom as much as possible, and if not... change them right away, clean them, and freshen them...
OK... we did this to our children... and now we get to do this again as role reversal is a true thing... we do this duty to our adult seniors or ones who need it done..as most have done for us as we were babies...
Abri Forms are good... use them at night time.. get them up, clean them, and put them in daytime diapers so they can "breathe" ..... let air get in there.
Any diaper that is going to hold in moisture is going to cause another issue if not addressed properly... Please understand that...
At least the bed is dry... the diaper can be disposed of much easier than a mattress....
Look at the forums, someone else mentioned another brand, and that seemed really good too....

Firstly get in touch with council and ask fof the inconvenience team to discuss the problem. Ask your Drs practice to sent a district nurse out and get them on board too.. You should be able to get free pads through incontinence nurse and you want purple slips with net knickers. They are like a big flat pad.. Purple is the highest you can get.. Go online while you are waiting and type in tena incontinence pads and get the purple ones, you need the net knickers to hold it in place..

The pure wick system works very well. But it's expensive.

I purchase Fitright diapers with the tabs. The tabs allow a better fit. I also purchase the overnight Poise Pads to allow for more absorption.

She is bedridden so a washable Chuck pad topped with a disposable large chuck pad is placed underneath. She still has the occasional leak but this system is working well

I found “Made for Living” ultimate pull ups on line (Facebook). They are the best pull ups for overnight. I have tried Walmart, walgreens, depends and others. These cover my butt cheeks. At night and during the day I wear them with an overnight pad. Sleep with a pad under me.

They are $21 for 20 count.

When I was hospitalized they used a BD “catheter.” A banana shaped suction item. It goes between your legs under a diaper. It hooks to a suction pump. The pump collects the night urine in a container.

I get Tena overnight for my wife and they work better than the depends. I try to change her after every bathroom use. I also put a fresh one on before bedtime. The washable bed pad on top of the sheets. I also put disposable pads under the sheets and under the mattress pad, just in case

Suggest that you confer with her PCP , share observations, be sure that PCP does not need to make new clinical assessments re mother's status and, then get referrals from PCP or perhaps a case manager that they assign for product options to use and, best practice care options going forward. It's always best to confer with PCP so that they are in the loop, can consider past and present status and, have the needs documented for both present care and future references as needed.
For example the PCP may observe this as a " decline" in patient's status and may want or need to make other assessments or recommended options...

We use a Depends with a nighttime pad inside. She hasn't leaked since I began adding the pad at night.

We use Nighttime Depends with a pad that is designed for disposable incontinence underwear, both of which we get fromAmazon. The real key for us is making sure she puts on a fresh new set up just before bed and then getting her up and into the bathroom first thing in the morning. Doesn’t always work but it usually does and it makes for much less leaking when she does get wet. We also have reusable bed pads down.

My mom used Abena however her problem was with gravity and a full bladder. As soon as she sat up, the water works flowed. Washing needed to be done every day. I would recommend a pad between her and the mattress pad. Try to pull up her nightgown so that she does not soak through.

I use depends. But if it was not so expensive I would use pure wick.

You need a good overnight underwear. While there are a lot of them, I've found this one to be the best. It's impressively big and thus can soak up a lot. It feels like it's about twice the mass of lesser overnight underwear.

We use Abena with an additional pad and that seems to work, though we do get breakthrough a couple of times a week.

Agree with cwillie. You can also insert a booster pad into the overnight briefs for more absorption.

In my experience Depends are more of an entry level product, the next step up would be Tena overnight, and beyond that the premium products like Abena, Tranquility, Prevail and many others.

Besides an overnight garment, you can add something like Poise overnight pads. Is she alone, or is there someone who can take her to the toilet once during the night?
