Find Care & Housing
"What is a Behavioral Health Nurse? The American Psychiatric Nursing Association defines psychiatric mental health nursing as “health and wellness promotion through identification of mental health issues, prevention of mental health problems and the care and treatment of persons with psychiatric disorders.”

"Makes nursing diagnosis of the medical and emotional status of patients and recommends treatment options. Consults with psychiatrists and other behavioral health staff in designing appropriate treatment plans for clients. Administers and notes reactions to psychotropic drugs and other medications"

Your profile says Mom has a Dementia. Maybe the nurse is evaluating to see if Mom will profit from medication.

Did mom's doctor order this?

Possibly to see if meds will help, i.e., antidepressants, anti-anxiety meds?

Have you asked for help in getting mom placed?
