Now he and his lawyer are coming after the other siblings to cover all the expenses. I don't think the siblings are responsible for the misdeeds of another, especially after all the animosity thats been displayed, since the responsibility was taken away from a fiscally responsible one, and given to the greedy one.

Your brother needs to prove to you that the money was spent for Parents care. But even then, are children responsible for parents debt. As POA he isn't either unless its proven he used parents money on himself. If there is no money, the those owed will have to take the loss.

Not your problem. The attorney can "come after" you all he wants, but you are not obligated to pay these debts. If your brother abused his powers as POA, then the creditors should be going after him.

the lawyer (shouldn't be the POAs lawyer, should be parents lawyer? correct?)may or may not be trying to get you to pay. perhaps the POA Is just "telling you that"

the POA may be pulling your leg.

have you received something in writing from the lawyer? or are you just going by what the POA is telling you?

my mom has her attorney and basically I do what he tells me to do LOL. I am basically scared of him. haha. if I spent all my moms money. I know I would be in big trouble with him. he would probably (?)demand I show him my moms expenses. he represents my mom(and dad)...he told me once if we siblings ever used moms money for ourselves (at this point in her life when she needs care) HE WOULD report us.

If the estate is bankrupt the creditors are out of luck (as are the beneficiaries). You are not responsible for your parent's debts, neither is the POA unless it can be proven he pocketed the money.

My post should say...children are "not" responsible for parents debts. I really don't understand how the lawyer feels you are. Be firm, you want an accounting of how Moms money was spent before you do anything.
