What do I say to my 95 year old dad who thinks people live in his home?

My siblings that live near my dad care for him aroound the clock, because he dreams that people live in his house , and he tells stories of how he sees my dead mother and she resuses to speak to him.
He was always sane and on the ball until recently.

dadams, I agree with 97yroldmom's posting, have your Dad tested for an Urinary Tract Infection. Either his primary doctor or urgent care can do the test. If your Dad does have an UTI, it can be corrected with antibiotics.

Whatever seems appropriate at the time. Don’t argue with him. Be agreeable. Have him tested for a UTI which can cause such occurrences. Check his meds. It could be a side affect. Look up Teepa Snow for tips on communication with folks who have dementia.
