My younger brother had a stroke and had no insurance. He was taken to Akron General Hospital and was diagnosed with stroke and aneurysms they kept him the time they could keep him, with no money. So they sent him to Highland Square Nursing Home. This is when his HELL and ours began. It took 4 days to get someone to answer the phone and that was calling all 3 shifts and it wasn't just me, my Mom and Niece had the same problem. He kept begging to come home when we did talk to him because he was afraid they were going to kill him !! After 30 days there, Highland had to send him to another facility because his memory was worse and he was on the decline. After being taken to Summa Akron Hospital ER and run through a bunch of tests the light started shing through about what had really happened. My Brother had bed sores, the UTI was caused from sitting in his own feces for hrs. upon hrs., he looked like a skeleton from not eating, he is left handed and the stroke left his left hand paralized, they didn,t bother to feed him. When the DRS. from Akron called me to tell me about my brother's condition they told me he was so dehydrated that he would have died in a day without fluids. Thank the GOOD LORD FOR GETTING HIM OUT OF HIGHLAND SQUARE IN TIME. PLEASE any one who has a sick family member DON'T TAKE THEM TO HIGHLAND SQUARE, THEY MIGHT NOT COME HOME.

Both ombudsman and your state licensing board for an investigation. Did you look on Medicare.gov to see what the rating was?
