People are noticing her confusion now.

Today was a nightmare. Since we live with mother, our two daughters came to visit and mother was upset at all of us all day. She kept wanting my 20 year old grandson to make down the couch and go to bed at 7:15. She didn't go to bed until 10:30 and kept telling us to get the couch turned down. My husband finally just told her...Dorothy, go to bed!!

We need help here. Advice? Thanks.

You will need to get her doctor involved. They will determine what stage she is at.
Don't be surprised if they tell you "there is no sign". They told me for years my mom didn't have dementia & finally decided recently she does.
Do you go into the exam room with her? You will have to start now. I always wanted to give my mom her privacy but sooner or later you will have to let that go.
A Urinary tract infection can mimic dementia. Have her checked before you decide to have her medicated & also watch her electrolyte levels (esp. low sodium). There is a "situational dementia" when there is trauma or illness in the elderly & it may only be temporary.
You can google dementia & learn much.
