I need to find out how to be compensated through the state.

If you are not married to this person he can pay you from his funds.
There may be programs that he may qualify for. If he is a Veteran there may be programs that he would qualify for and depending on where and when he served if any condition has been linked to his service there may be more help for both of you.
If you are married there generally is no compensation for someone caring for their spouse. Although he can pay you. I would draw up a Caregiver Contract and make it so that taxes are taken out.
From your profile it is difficult to tell if you are still married to this person or not.
I also strongly suggest that you go to your profile and remove all identifying information. (Names and locations.)

Not sure I understand ur question. Are you caring for an Ex-husband? Check with Medicaid if they pay caregivers. Your friend will need to fit the criteria.
