Husband has done this a few times, never have seen it before, he has ALZ/DEM. Sometimes does this with open hands and sometimes with closed fists. The closed fists was done when he got angry with our daughter, open hands was as he was coming down the hall to ask me a question.

My Mom (also Alzheimer’s) used to continually pick at the arms of her chair. This could be a habit, obsession or something like a “tic”. It’s annoying but common. However, if those fists, when he gets angry, leave his sides and aim at someone, it’s time to call the doctor for help.

Thank you, it is so hard to understand these things that you have not seen before, I am going to make notes and give them to the Dr. on the next visit, a discussion is in order for me to know what things mean or are.
This is an education along the journey, so many of us are in this together, even though we don't know one another...so glad this is here.
