Her assent as a spouse must be below 60,000 not including home. And her income must not be enough to cover the cost of in home caregiver services. They will add up her medical expenses, medocal ins premiums, and caregiver expences. If they total more that her monthly income she may qualify. We applied for mom and she is rec max benefits of 1149 mo. We tried in home care but had to move her to Adult Family Care home and benefits help pay for that. Hello...regarding the aid and attendance program, you should go to your local V.A. facility in your town to speak to someone regarding this program for spouses or go to: http://www.veteranaid.org/....and save that page on your computer...it will explain everything...there are different ways to get funds and yes it depends on when the veteran was in service and you need to have copies of his discharge papers and his DD214.....is the husband getting a V.A. pension now? Everything can be read on the veterans webpage with a contact number. Hope it works out for you.
