My veteran Father died and my Mother (90) never filed for his benefits. Can she still file even though he died 20 years ago?

She is in an assisted living situation and her savings have become depleted. He was in the Navy in WWII.

Yes, she should immediately file for Aid and Attendance. The facility can help you with the paperwork.
