I had a nerve block the beginning of august and i was fair but wednesday i was woken up with pain. It’s not been this bad since surgery in 1997. He put me on a liquid diet for 48 hours- that doesn’t help my anorexia. I can’t see him until November, but he said that all this stress is not helping. I told my cousin and she told me to take care of yourself and let us take care of her. I was shocked but grateful. I just needed to show how as caregivers we need to take care of ourselves

Oh Honey, I am so sorry that the pancreatic nerve block and stent are not working like they should be. Does a liquid diet usually help the pancreatic pain? Why can’t your doctor see you until November?  Surely he could see you sooner since you are in so much pain.  Keep calling his office and check for cancellations so that you can get in sooner.

Glad to hear that you called your cousins and that they said that they will look after your Mom.

(Has your MIA Brother called to see how you and your Mom are doing or have you talked to him at all since he moved away?)

Please rest and take care of yourself for awhile.
 {{{Cautious and Gentle HUGS}}} and Prayers 🙏

absolutely no contact since beginning of april for my mom and i haven’t spoken to him since april 24 th.!it is almost like grieving someone yet they’re out of your life because they choose to be. i broke down in the oa meeting today and i felt better. my mom is going to be having a hard time on her birthday because that would have been their 64 wedding anniversary

You’re absolutely, 100% right. Stress can kill you, and it’s a sneaky killer. You’re fine until one day you’re not.

Staffbull,
I sure hope the rest from caretaking helps you feel better. We run ourselves into the ground, trying to be everything for everyone but we neglect ourselves and wind up sick.

May Gid give you the time for rest and recouperatation that you need to heal.

i am kinda scared. first is that the liquid diet can be a trigger for the anorexia and i lose weight quickly. then i went to the meeting yesterday but had to leave early due to the pain. my friend called me after to check on me. she is so worried about me she said i look like i am dying. she said i need to go to the emergency room.?however, it’s not as bad as it was a couple of days ago so nothing will show up. i really should have went when i was in the major crisis of it. so no matter what when the next big attack happens and it will i an going to the emergency room. i don’t think i look that bad.

Staff, your friend is worried about you, like we all are. You have so much going on. Is your cousin now taking care of your mom for a while? I hope so. So if they are, don’t worry that Mom’s ok and everything. Just let it go and get better. Did you explain to the doctor that you’re afraid the liquid diet will kick in your anxorexia. If not, call them now. If you can’t handle it, do go to the ER anyway. They can help you handle it. But you have to be honest with them and tell them your history and exactly how you are feeling. Don’t blow anything off about what’s going on so they can give you the right treatment.

Feel better fast...❤️

I am so happy that you had the Surprise Birthday Party for your Mom.  You were able to show her just how much you and her friends (not counting the one that complained) love and care about her!!!

hi i don’t know what to do. the day before my moms party, her friend who has been great, asked me what time we were going to be there. i said 5:30 the time of the party. she has been unhappy with this time because there were a couple older people. she eats at 3:30. my cousins don’t get off work until 5 so i decide on 5:30. well her friend said all the people will be there at 5. she said that way everyone orders by 5:30. i got frustrated and said i can’t make everyone happy. i am trying to take care of everyone and make everyone happy. i said i feel like i have the weight of the world on my shoulders again. between my fil, mom and my health i don’t know what to do. i did get upset. at the party i just went to her and said i know you are mad at me. well i have been calling her and she doesn’t answer or return my calls. she really has been there for my mom and me. i feel awful. i apologized on the message. i love her and i feel bad. what can i do. i am not that kind of person and i am so worried.

Staff, don’t sweat the small stuff. At any given time, there are more than a few people who are honked off at me. I don’t put each of them under a microscope and examine their feeling and why they have them. I don’t agonize over what I could possibly do to “make it up to them”.

You apologized even even though I don’t think you needed to. This lady is obviously enjoying her little snit fit. Let her have it. Don’t keep calling. She’ll get over it. Don’t beat yourself up over it. You need to grow a thick skin and not let stuff like this upset you so much. It’s not good for you.
