Significant Other witnessed unprofessional treatment of elder patient in hospicehouse the first time sleeping patient was cleaned by aid. An aid hurt sleeping man cleaning and moving the patient roughly without attending nurse or other aid then complained the awoken patient was...rude and he would not work on this patient again. He then removed his gloves threw them angerly into trash or floor and on leaving room I ordered him not to return and he remarked he was off the next day and I said...good...turned to female nurse and said " I am complaining at this moment for this behavior. You better put it in the report ". I am at a loss for this treatment of a sleeping man

i never thought id come to the assistance but ive met a few male nurses in the elder care business and the nature of the work tends to make them look out of place or effeminant . that doesnt mean they pack fudge . i can be pretty compassionate too when the situation requires it and im not busy slaughtering baby seals with hard frozen puppies .

By the way - just how do you know he was gay? Was he humming a Broadway show tune?

Wasn't meant to be helpful - was meant to convey disapproval of your small minded ignorance.

Uhm .... I'm confused.

Is the patient your SO? (I'm having a difficult time following this.)

You say he was trying to clean a patient while the patient was asleep. Do you know why? For example, was the patient soiled and it was a health issue to get that cleaned up immediately? Did you ask the aide politely whether he could come back when the patient was awake?

Is it the facility's policy to always have two persons doing a clean-up? Why would you think that would be necessary? The nurse you complained to -- did she come in after the cleaning was done?

Was the patient rude when he woke up? That might be perfectly excusable under the circumstances, but was he?

Did the aide throw the gloves in the trash (appropriate) or on the floor (inappropriate)? Don't you think that sort of makes a difference?

I am so sorry that your loved one is on hospice care at this time. I'm sure that is hugely stressful for you. My heart goes out to both of you.

But I don't understand what your question is in this post. Is there one?
