My husband is experiencing early signs of cognitive decline. He has been in denial, but is now willing to have a neurological exam. That is great news, but now we're having trouble finding a neurologist who takes Medicare or his Medicare supplement insurance. If anyone has any clues on how to approach this search in some sort of structured and focused and logical way, rather than randomly, I would be so grateful.

If you have a large University hospital or a large rehab center associated with a medical school, call and ask if there is a memory clinic or Dementia Project within that setting. If not, call the Neurology Department and ask who specializes in cognitive loss and takes those insurances.

Another place to try is the Center for BrainHealth and Brain Performance Institute - they are heavily involved in research and programs. they are located on West Mockingbird Lane. At the least, they may know of programs he can participate in besides the doctor testing.

Very useful! Thanks. We live in Frisco, a northern part of the Dalkas, Texas metroplex so UT Southwestern would be a good place to start and i'll do that today! Thanks again!
