I thought it was clever.. Last year I went to a restaurant in Arizona, that had a live longhorn steer in the front. That was something to see. Never seen one up close. Those animals have to be strong with horns like that. Gives me a headache thinking about it.
Call a Catholic Church (Or other church with service minded groups.) Catholic Churches usually have a “Ladies Guild” that is made up of many women who love and have time to volunteer. If they knew that you were in need, someone would surely help you. As a courtesy, you could donate a bit to their current cause.
I agree with you that there really should be more more services for the aging.
I would personally get on the phone with yellow cab or taxis and talk with someone. Get an idea of what you are up against.
If you do find a driver who is reliable, get their cell phone number so you can call them directly. Make a personal contact with a driver so they know who you are.
It worked out well for me. I have my personal driver with yellow to pick my aunt up and me in his wheel chair access taxi. He is very nice and most of the time punctual. He will call if he will be late.. We know eachother by name, and he is great. He is the only one I trust to transport my aunt. He makes sure she is secure.
Do call personal transport companies, and do talk with someone, and when you find a driver you like, get that cell phone number and taxi number or whatever... for future rides.
I went to the scott and white pain clinic for injections when i lived with my active duty daughter at fort hood. I had to have someone drive me but they never told me not to drive for the first 24 hrs. I sure hope you can find someone to take you....i sure do miss texas!!! My daughter got stationed overseas for 3 yrs so i moved back to Florida to help my elderly mom.
This is a need for me. I am a caretaker for my husband but he is away in rehab right now. He will be coming home in a couple of weeks and I need to try and get myself back on track. I have an occasional back problem from two previous surgeries. The pain has been very bad and unrelenting. Opioids are not an option until I've tried the steroid injections.
The pain clinic at Scott & White requires a driver to administer the injections I need. We can't drive for 24 hours afterwards. There is a neighbor here that would drive me to and from but she is away right now in Austin with her daughter. I could give a couple of days notice after I get the appointment. I won't schedule it until I have transportation. I called Texas HHS but they said there are few resources in Temple.
She told me if I was ADA or Medicaid there would be several resources. I am classified as neither but just need transportation to and from the doctor appointment. I could call a taxi but the comments for the Temple taxi resources say they aren't on time and just not reliable. Maybe someone knows which taxi company is a good one to use.

Stop horsing around... :) There appointments that need to be considered, and I dont think longhorn steers go very fast?....
Do you drive? Do you need help because he is difficult to transport or do you not drive or own a car?
