The senior bus service only pics up my parent at 11 ish and lunch is at 11:45, and the bus return pick up starts at 12:15pm ... Does this even make sense? It sort of does because it is advertise as senior dining. They have activities starting at 10 and it is open from 9am... and it closes at 3pm.

So it is staffed from 9-3pm and has seniors there only from 11ish - 12:30pm..

I understand these programs run on what ever they can scrape up from the gov and probably grants I am thinking? Is there something to learn about these programs besides the logistics of running them? The bus has 40 seats and there were only 3 passengers including my parent on the whole route.

Is this a bus service you use or the Daycare giving transportation? Doesn't seem worth going thru all the trouble just to have lunch.

the manager said they have two senior centers for which they do pick ups and this is the earliest possible. :(

Something is wonky with that schedule. We’ve ridden our local transportation authority vans too. We are a “special” pick up because we use it only occasionally for doctor’s visits. We pay a small fee. I have to call 4-5 days in advance. I understand there is a regularly scheduled route as well. We did have a disabled girl who rode the bus daily and it picked her up in the morning and dropped her off in the afternoon.

If I have questions, I call the office at the bus garage. Be very specific about what you want and what times you need. Our TA is supported by taxes, it’s not a charity venture. We all pay for it.

I would ask why they don't pick up parent for activities. Maybe they are misinformed on what u want. My Moms was a Daycare from 9 to 2:30. They picked Mom up at 8am.

Is the bus service and senior center in any way connected? I might address my concern with the director for both organizations to see if they can give it some thought and make some adjustments. Sounds VERY odd to me. And a real waste of resources.
